To be frank, I originally purchased Little Owl’s Night for me. I simply fell in love with the doe-eyed bird aptly named Little Owl. For about a year on roughly month long intervals I would reread the book, hoping that Bean might now share my enthusiasm. Nope. Nada. Not yet. Until a month ago when voila, Bean loved Little Owl as much as I did! I promptly bought Little Owl’s Day to celebrate.
Little Owl’s Night and Little Owl’s Day by Divya Srinivasan are complementary books in a series that show us that beauty is all around us, if we take the time to look for it. They lend themselves quite well to bedtime reading, as they tell a different story of night – not as something to be feared, but something quiet, peaceful and full of its own wonders. They are also beautiful enough to round out any gift basket for expecting parents! Little Owl’s Night and Little Owl’s Day are four-eggs for sure.
Little Owl’s soulful eyes will captivate you, or my name isn’t the Little Mermaid. Get it? Ariel = Little Mermaid? Disney Princesses love furry forest creatures? Well it’s not funny if I have to explain it! Go buy them, you won’t regret it!
