Gear Review: WeeSprout's Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch

I embarked on the parenthood journey full of ideals and goals. But with a husband that works abroad half the year, some things simply were not doable when relying on me, myself, and I to get it all done. The WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch was one item that made my to-do list a little less daunting.

The WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch has a wide opening that makes filling a cinch – no funnel necessary. The pouches are safe to freeze, which makes batch cooking a possibility. Plus, with both a writing space and see-through window, you can conveniently see the date-produced or content at a glance. The pouches’ double-zip closure seals completely. I still place the pouches in a zip-lock before placing them in the diaper bag because I am overly cautious, but time and time again the pouches prove this is an unnecessary additional step. Not one leak!

But for me the main selling point is how easy they are to clean. The bags are top rack dishwasher safe, but I can attest – as someone who doesn’t have a dishwasher – they are just as easy to clean by hand. Simply rinse thoroughly, run a bottle brush around the inside of the pouch, and voila! No hard to reach corners. You know how hard it is to clean a smoothie bottle after it has been sitting in a hot car all day. Caked on! It is caked on! Not so with the WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch. For those days when, try as you might, you still don’t have it together, the pouch is still just as easy to clean.

Another selling point for me is that you can easily purchase replacement caps. While I have been lucky so far, I have a long track record of losing small, easily misplaced parts that are integral to the function of an item. For a small additional charge - significantly less than the cost of purchasing an all new set of pouches – you can buy yourself some peace of mind.

The WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch works for multiple members of my household. I work out first thing in the morning, so by the time I get home at 0630, I am usually prioritizing a shower before food. And by the time I get around to eating breakfast the Bean is peeping. “Mommy! Mommy!Momma?” She calls to me. Time has run out. Enter the pouch. Once or twice a week, I batch produce a thick, protein-rich smoothie. This way, on those days, I not only have a healthy option, but one that I know supports my weight goals. These pouches have put in about 6 months’ worth of work so far, feeding both me and my Bean, and they still work just as well as the day I opened them – no wear and tear whatsoever.

The WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch come in three sizes – 3.4 ml, 5.0 ml and 7.0 ml. I have the largest size which has been useful for me since the Bean started eating purees at 6 months. From storing purees to hand-help independent snacking, the WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouch has grown with her. We use the WeeSprout Pouches for multiple members of our household and I think we will be able to use them for any other children that come our way so a solid five eggs in my estimation.
